What business growth strategies are your business leveraging in 2016? From internet marketing to joint ventures, small business owners are using a variety of strategies to ensure continued growth this year and into the next.

According to the National Small Business Association, which recently released its annual Year-End Economic Report, more small business owners are expecting to expand this year than any other point over the past seven years. The results show small businesses in the United States gearing up for a variety of growth strategies as 2016 gets under way.

Here are ten of the top growth strategies that U.S. small business owners plan to use this year:

    1. New advertising and marketing strategies

From print advertisements to social media marketing, there are bound to be a variety of advertising and marketing strategies that will spur growth for small businesses this year.

    2. Expanding internet/eCommerce activities

A brick-and-mortar store is great, but expanding online efforts is the best way to grow your audience even when you can’t afford to lease a new retail space.

    3. Strategic alliances

Aligning with other businesses can be a win-win if you do it right. When strategic alliances benefit both parties, they are sure to inspire measurable growth without hefty commitment.

    4. Hiring new employees

When businesses grow, hiring new employees is a must. There’s just no way to meet the growing demands without cutting corners otherwise.

    5. Joint ventures

A joint venture brings two businesses together for the sake of an investment. Like strategic alliances, joint ventures can benefit both parties.

    6. Research and development

If you’re looking to grow your business, you need to understand the current market climate and develop your operation accordingly.

    7. Expanding facilities/building additional stores

Whether you need a new facility to process online orders or new retail space to serve a growing customer base, expansion can give your business needed room to grow.

    8. Outsourcing

If you want to grow your business without investing in new employees or expanding your facilities, outsourcing may be the only way to go.

    9. Acquisitions

One competitive way to garner instant growth is to acquire other (typically smaller) successful businesses in the same field.

    10. Mergers

Mergers also ensure growth, but unlike acquisitions these arrangements allow both businesses to stay intact.

With these business growth strategies in mind, are you ready to make 2015 your year to grow?
