About the aca business club

Since the earliest days of this great country Americans have come together to form clubs for fun and fellowship. Private clubs have always been the venue of choice for building relationships, networking and entertaining clients.

The American Club Association (ACA) originally formed as an association of private golf, tennis, city and country clubs across the United States, serving and consulting with private clubs in thirty-three metro areas. The ACA was headquartered out of the historic Kansas City Club located in downtown Kansas City. Since its founding in 1882 notable members have included Omar Bradley, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Ewing Kauffman, R. Crosby Kemper, and Harry S. Truman.

Stephen Joyce, General Manager of The Kansas City Club and a leader in the private club industry, served on the ACA Board of Directors, and was instrumental in launching the reciprocal membership privileges program adopted by hundreds of private clubs across the United States, and around the world.

The ACA founders had a vision to:

•   Build high quality, professional relationships within the private club setting.

•   Create unique and expanded opportunities to entertain clients and colleagues.

•   Develop one of the most elite and influential networks in the country.

The founders soon discovered that the synergy created by their cooperative efforts began to significantly benefit not only their own careers and clubs, but also their local communities,

After the closing of The Kansas City Club, to keep its tradition alive, the ACA launched the ACA Business Club of Kansas City modeled after The Kansas City Club.  The ACA Business Club is a 21st Century private club that focuses on building high quality relationships among executives, professionals and business owners, with an emphasis on professional and business development. The ACA is currently expanding the ACA Business Club model and concept back out across the country.

Since its inception the ACA has been committed to the highest standards of integrity, quality, service and excellence. Membership in the ACA Business Club is by invitation only - and only members striving for these qualities are invited to join. Today, the ACA remains dedicated to upholding the values and traditions of private clubs, while continuing to serve the finest members in the country.
